Relationship is at the core of good supervision.
We see supervision as a collaborative process between the supervisor and the supervisee.
The purpose of supervision:
- To enable the supervisee to remain in good mental and emotional health
- To offer education/guidance for issues in the supervisee’s professional practice context (eg. ethical and client issues).
- To assist the supervisee in further development as a professional within their field and offer ongoing support eg business-building skills, career development.
At Embark we are pleased to be able to offer clinical supervision to counsellors and other professionals.
Counsellors
Professional supervision is a mandatory component of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) registration for counsellors. Individual and group supervision is available.
Church Leaders
On December 15, 2017 the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse handed down their recommendations in their Final Report. Click here to read more.
Recommendation 16.45 states:
Consistent with Child Safe Standard 5, each religious institution should ensure that all people in religious or pastoral ministry, including religious leaders, have professional supervision with a trained professional or pastoral supervisor who has a degree of independence from the institution within which the person is in ministry.
At Embark we can offer professional supervision that is faith-based, built on a 40-year faith journey.
Other Professionals
We believe supervision to be an essential part of good practice for anyone in the helping professions.
